The Island of Evia
Evia is located in the east of the central mainland in Greece. The island is connected with the rest of the country, by the sea via Glyfa or Akitsa, and via the high bridge of Chalkida and the old bridge of Evripos. Close to Rovies, after the village of Kalamoudi, is the famous monastery of Saint David. Pilgrims from all over Greece arrive there all year round.
